Nita Sharma, M.B.A., FACHE, instructor in Health Care Systems Engineering and member of the Mayo Clinic Outpatient Practice Subcommittee, shares how she and colleagues at Mayo Clinic in Arizona developed a toolkit to safely reboot the outpatient practice in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sharma describes how five multidisciplinary teams were empowered to develop workstreams in the areas of patient and visitor screening; proactive procedural testing; environmental safety; staff protection for face-to-face visits; and the development of outpatient cohort areas and respiratory illness clinics. Learn how the teams integrated strategies to reboot the outpatient practice and keep patients, staff and communities safe.
