The skinny on normal-weight obesity

Presented at ESC 2012, a new study shows that those with central obesity but a normal BMI are at a higher risk of mortality than other obese and overweight patients. Stephen L. Kopecky, M.D., talks to study investigators Francisco Lopez-Jimenez, M.D., and Karine Sahakyan, M.D., Ph.D., about these seemingly paradoxical results and what implications they could have for clinical practice.
